Sergio Barba, aged 18, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in the early hours of June 11, 2007, in Chicago’s Archer Heights neighborhood. Barba was a member of a local street gang, and his killing appeared to be part of an ongoing cycle of gang-related violence. Following Barba's death, two of his associates, Jorge Morones and Orlando Rojas, sought revenge for what they believed was a targeted attack on one of their own.
