Michelle Nicole "Nikki" Roper, aged 36, passed away on July 25, 2014, at her home in Emporia, Virginia. Born on April 15, 1978, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Haldana R. Cooper Thomas and Lawrence G. Roper. Michelle, known affectionately as Nikki, Shell, or Mickey Mouse, was a beloved member of her community and family. She had a diverse career, having worked at Food Lion, Web Craft, and an animal shelter, reflecting her love for animals.
