In the late afternoon of September 4, 2017, a tragedy unfolded at a Wendy's restaurant inside a Pilot Travel Center in Disputanta, Virginia, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Coron Bond. The young man was fatally shot in an incident that stemmed from a workplace dispute involving his girlfriend and another employee.
The conflict began between Bond's girlfriend, My'Keyah Oliver, and her co-worker, Norma Glover. Following an argument, Glover contacted her half-brother, Jules R.
Moultrie III. Moultrie then traveled to the Wendy's, where he confronted Bond, who was not involved in the initial dispute and was seated at a table looking at his phone. Moultrie shot Bond multiple times, and Bond was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jules R. Moultrie III was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Norma Glover was also arrested and faced charges for her role in instigating the violence. She was found guilty of first-degree murder for encouraging her half-brother to commit the act and received a sentence of 48 years in prison. Evidence presented during the legal proceedings indicated that Glover pointed Bond out to Moultrie before he opened fire.
