Courtney Dewayne Thomas, a 30-year-old resident of Hampton, Virginia, tragically lost his life on October 2, 2018, due to an accidental shooting at the Phoebus Auction Gallery where he was employed. The incident occurred when Joshua James Hartman, a fellow employee and friend of Thomas, negligently handled a firearm, resulting in a fatal discharge.
