In the autumn of 2018, the life of 30-year-old Courtney Dewayne Thomas was tragically cut short in what was initially described as a workplace accident. On the afternoon of October 2nd, emergency services were called to the Phoebus Auction Gallery in Hampton, Virginia, where Thomas was an employee. Inside the business on East Mellen Street, first responders discovered that Thomas had been shot. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
