On June 27, 2021, Charles Brandon Coleman, a 31-year-old resident of Martinsville, Virginia, was tragically killed in a shooting incident at the Maplewood Apartments located at 1446 West Fayette Street. The Martinsville Police Department responded to a call of gunshots fired at approximately 8:32 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Coleman lying behind one of the apartment buildings with multiple gunshot wounds.
