In the quiet, pre-dawn hours of a Sunday morning in Chesapeake, Virginia, the life of 19-year-old Tavis T. McLean, a young Black male, was brought to a violent and tragic end. On October 17, 2021, while driving, his vehicle was riddled with bullets, causing him to crash. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered the grim reality of the situation; McLean had sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, his injuries proved fatal.
