On April 20, 1995, Investigator John D. 'Jack' McLaughlin, a 38-year-old male, was shot and killed in Haddon Heights, New Jersey. A former member of the U.S. Air Force Security Police, he had been with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office for only two months, assigned to investigate cases of child abuse.
