On a cold winter day in 2016, the life of 24-year-old Christopher Terry of Jersey City, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. The young Black / African American man, identified as Christopher Jackson Terry, Sr., was fatally shot on February 7, 2016.
The shooting occurred in Essex County, and the circumstances surrounding the incident have remained the subject of an ongoing investigation.
In the immediate aftermath and in the years that have followed, law enforcement agencies have been actively seeking information to bring those responsible for his death to justice. Despite their efforts, which have included numerous interviews and the pursuit of various leads, the case has grown cold.
No arrests have ever been made in connection with the murder of Christopher Terry, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The lack of witnesses and concrete evidence has presented significant challenges for investigators. In an effort to generate new leads, the Essex County Sheriff's Office has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
