In the summer of 2016, a grim discovery was made in a quiet Plainfield, New Jersey neighborhood. The body of 24-year-old Neelega Star Perry, a Black / African American female, was found in the backyard of a home on Spruce Street on June 30th. She had been killed by a single gunshot wound to the head in what investigators would describe as an 'execution-style' murder. A revolver was found near her body.
