In the late hours of a July evening in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the life of 37-year-old Shavonne M. McKee was tragically cut short. On July 3, 2016, at approximately 11:20 p.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a shooting on the 400 block of North Virginia Avenue. Upon their arrival, they found McKee suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical responders rushed her to the AtlantiCare Medical Center—City Division, but she was pronounced dead just before midnight.
