Shelbi Martin, a 21-year-old female, was found deceased from a gunshot wound in her apartment on Park Avenue on the night of Wednesday, October 30, 2019. The grim discovery was made after police responded to a report of shots fired at the residence around 11:30 p.m.
Inside the apartment, officers also found Herbert Lopez, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of the following morning. Investigators believe that Lopez shot Martin before turning the gun on himself. At the time of the incident, Martin's two young daughters, ages three and four, were present in the home, along with their grandmother.
