In the late evening hours of August 4, 2021, the city of Linden, New Jersey, became the scene of a fatal act of violence that claimed the life of 29-year-old Grady Jilus. A male resident of Linden, Jilus was discovered in a parking lot on the 600 block of Morningside Avenue shortly after 8:45 p.m. by Linden Police officers who were responding to reports of a seriously injured person. Upon their arrival, they found Jilus suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
