In the early hours of a Tuesday morning, the life of Nicole M. Lee, a 32-year-old female resident of West Orange, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. On October 5, 2021, she was fatally shot in East Orange. The incident unfolded on the 100 block of North 18th Street, where police responded to reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Nicole suffering from gunshot wounds. She was quickly transported to University Hospital in Newark in an effort to save her life.
Despite the medical attention she received, Nicole M. Lee was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, in conjunction with the East Orange Police Department, immediately launched an investigation into the shooting. However, to date, no arrests have been made in connection with her death. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation, with authorities appealing to the public for any information that might lead to the identification and apprehension of a suspect or suspects.
