Katherine Betty Basser, aged 22, was one of the eight victims of the Hazelwood massacre, a tragic event that took place on June 14, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan. The massacre occurred at a house on Hazelwood Street, where eight individuals were shot and killed in what remains the largest mass murder in Detroit's history.
