Eugene Childrey, a 36-year-old resident of Buena Vista Township, Michigan, was found dead on March 26, 2017. His body was discovered in a crashed car about 10 feet off Treanor Road near Walters Road, on the border of Buena Vista and Bridgeport townships. Upon arrival, police found that Childrey had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The initial report to the authorities was for a single-vehicle crash, but the discovery of gunshot wounds quickly turned the case into a homicide investigation.
