In the summer of 2017, the life of 30-year-old Jamie Lee VanVolkenburg, a female resident of Burton, Michigan, was tragically cut short. On the evening of June 19th, authorities were called to a residence where they discovered that VanVolkenburg had been fatally wounded by gunfire. The incident was quickly ruled a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Burton Police Department.
