In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 29, 2018, Fabian “Jimmy” J. Wesaw, Sr., a 42-year-old male and a member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, was fatally shot outside the Beeson Street Bar in downtown Dowagiac, Michigan. Wesaw was an unfortunate bystander to a dispute that did not involve him. He was a father to three children, Amara, Cora, and Fabian Jr., and was a beloved member of his community.
