Born on May 31, 1990, in Kalamazoo, he was a lifelong resident of the Vicksburg community. Known for his fun-loving sense of humor and witty personality, Billy was described as honest, intelligent, and chivalrous. He had a passion for reading, often carrying books in his cargo pants, and also had an interest in blacksmithing.
For a time, he worked as a parts driver at a local car dealership and also had experience as a short-order cook.
The circumstances of his death led to a homicide investigation. It was determined that Bolton had been shot and killed at a residence in the Vicksburg area. His roommate, Thomas William Wyatt, who was 25 years old at the time, was identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting.
Following an investigation into the incident, Thomas William Wyatt was arrested in connection with William Bolton's death. He was subsequently charged with open murder. The case then moved into the legal system for prosecution.
