Death by Force

Keanna Mattel, a 35-year-old Black transgender woman, was tragically killed on December 7, 2018, in Detroit, Michigan. Known also by the name Kelly Stough, Mattel was found dead from a gunshot wound in the Palmer Park neighborhood. Her death was a significant loss to the community, as she was remembered as a vibrant member of Detroit's ballroom scene and a vocal advocate against the violence faced by transgender women.
