In the summer of 2019, the life of 60-year-old Carol Baur, a female resident of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, was tragically cut short in a violent series of events that began over a Fourth of July dispute. Baur was allowing a longtime acquaintance, Tom Ihlenfeldt, to live in her home to share expenses. Her family would later reveal they believed he was manipulating her and had threatened to harm her family if she asked him to leave.
