It was around 4:00 a.m. at a home on Concord Lane in Farmington Hills, Michigan, when a loud noise at the front door startled Dejuan White and his fiancée, Veronica Flowers. White, a 40-year-old male, went to investigate and was tragically shot through the storm door. Flowers ran downstairs to find her fiancé on the floor behind the shattered door. The couple had been planning their wedding, which was just a week away.
Before succumbing to his injuries, Dejuan White was able to provide crucial information to the responding officers, identifying his lifelong friend, Kevin Curtis Moore, as the man who had shot him. The investigation quickly revealed a darker story. Authorities believed that about an hour before the fatal shooting in Farmington Hills, Moore had shot his own girlfriend in Detroit.
