Xavier West, a 29-year-old resident of Battle Creek, Michigan, tragically lost his life on November 25, 2021. The incident occurred at the Cricket Club, a downtown bar located at 36 W. Michigan Ave. West was shot twice in the chest around midnight on Thanksgiving morning and was pronounced dead shortly after at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. The shooting took place during a chaotic altercation inside the crowded bar, which was packed with over 900 patrons despite its 300-person capacity.
