Naya Reynolds, a 22-year-old resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan, tragically lost her life on August 26, 2022, in a shooting incident on the I-94 entrance ramp at Oakland Drive in Portage. Naya, a student at Western Michigan University studying criminal justice, was in a car when shots were fired from another vehicle. The incident also resulted in injuries to a 35-year-old pregnant woman and her 18-month-old child, both of whom survived, although the unborn child did not^1^.
