In the late summer of 2022, a devastating tragedy unfolded in Portage, Michigan, claiming the life of 6-year-old Zenzia Bates. On the evening of August 30th, the young girl, along with her mother, became the victims of a violent act that would leave a family shattered and a community in mourning.
