Michael L. McKee, who served as the Sheriff of Kemper County, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on August 9, 1997. Sheriff McKee was responding to a call at a suspect's house late on a Saturday night. The suspect had previously shot and killed his own father, creating a highly volatile and dangerous situation.
