In the small town of Goodman, Mississippi, a domestic dispute over a scheduling conflict escalated into a tragic and fatal encounter on the morning of September 8, 2000. The life of Emma Horton, a 38-year-old female and the Assistant Chief of the Goodman Police Department, was cut short in a hail of gunfire. She had gone to the home of her brother-in-law, who was also an officer with the same department, to discuss the scheduling issue with her sister and niece.
