In the early morning hours of Valentine's Day in 2014, a gathering for a dice game in Grenada, Mississippi, turned fatal for Izzic Terrell Townes. A Black/African American male, Townes was 43 years old at the time of his death. The Grenada Police Department received a call about a shooting on the 600 block of Govan Street shortly after 3 a.m. and arrived to find that Townes had been shot.
