In the quiet town of Booneville, Mississippi, the life of 23-year-old Andrea Nicole Fleming was tragically cut short on May 1, 2015. On that day, she was found deceased in her residence located on Water Tank Road, just outside the city limits. An investigation by the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office revealed that she had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
Responding to a 911 call in the early hours of the morning, deputies arrived at the scene to find Fleming inside the home.
A male occupant, identified as 26-year-old James Erik Robinson, was present and taken into custody as a person of interest. Robinson was reportedly Fleming's fiancé. The investigation that followed led to formal charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon being filed against him. At the time of the incident, Robinson was on parole, having been released from the Mississippi Department of Corrections just a few months prior.
Investigators recovered the weapon used in the crime at the scene, along with other evidence that solidified the case against Robinson. A bond was set at $1 million. In June of 2016, James Erik Robinson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Andrea Nicole Fleming. He was sentenced by a circuit judge to 35 years in prison, a term he is required to serve day-for-day without the possibility of parole.
