In the small town of Lumberton, Mississippi, a sense of sorrow descended on July 30, 2015, following the tragic death of 12-year-old Jayla Sandifer. The young female was at her grandparents' residence on Spring Street when a gunshot ended her life. The Lumberton Police Department received a call about shots fired and responded to the scene at approximately 8:58 p.m..
