In the early morning hours of the day after Thanksgiving in 2015, a dispute over a cigarette at a Waffle House in Biloxi, Mississippi, ended in the tragic death of 52-year-old waitress Julie Ann Brightwell. A female employee, Brightwell was working her shift when she informed a customer, Johnny Max Mount, that he was not allowed to smoke inside the restaurant.
