In the early morning hours of February 1, 2016, in Corinth, Mississippi, 43-year-old Kris Ledlow was working as a clerk at the Mapco Express on Highway 72. Her shift turned tragic when two individuals entered the store in what would become a fatal robbery attempt. The incident cut short the life of a woman remembered for always having a smile on her face.
During the attempted robbery, Ledlow was shot and killed. An investigation was immediately launched by the Corinth Police Department. Surveillance footage from the store played a crucial role in identifying the suspects. Not long after the incident, a 17-year-old, Brooklin Traylor, was brought to the police department by his parents after they learned he was a person of interest.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a second suspect, 24-year-old Micah Bostic. Both Traylor and Bostic were charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Kris Ledlow. As the case proceeded through the legal system, Brooklin Traylor ultimately pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of first-degree murder. He received a life sentence with the possibility of parole and an additional 40-year sentence for attempted robbery. Micah Bostic also faced a trial for his alleged involvement in the crime that led to the untimely death of Kris Ledlow.
