In the summer of 2016, the life of 19-year-old Malik Brown was tragically cut short in Greenville, Mississippi. On the evening of July 29th, Brown was shot and killed on Union Street, becoming another young victim of gun violence. His death prompted an outpouring of grief and calls for an end to such senseless acts within the community. In the wake of the shooting, family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil to honor his memory and demand justice.
