Cordarius Coats, a 17-year-old from Lexington, Mississippi, was tragically found dead on January 11, 2017. His body was discovered around 3:00 a.m. on the back steps of a homeowner's residence on Carrollton Street. Coats had been shot multiple times, and his death was immediately classified as a homicide. The Holmes County coroner confirmed that the body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
