In the spring of 2017, a young life was cut short in Ripley, Mississippi, leaving a family and community searching for answers. Jachai Colvin, a 20-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on April 16, 2017. The incident occurred at the Tippah County Fairgrounds, where a concert had taken place. A fight reportedly broke out after the event, leading to the gunfire that ended Colvin's life.
