On March 17, 2018, in Wren, Mississippi, 14-year-old Dijonae Amaya White was tragically shot by her 9-year-old brother following a dispute over a video game controller. When Dijonae refused to hand over the controller, her brother retrieved a .25-caliber handgun, reportedly belonging to their mother's boyfriend, and shot her in the back of the head. At the time of the incident, their mother was in a nearby room.
