Death by Force

Walter Stewart Jr., a 54-year-old African American man from Sidon, Mississippi, was found deceased on March 12, 2019. His body was discovered by a fisherman in Sidon Cutoff Lake, a Yazoo River brake located approximately three miles southwest of Sidon. Stewart had been shot multiple times, and his body was dumped in the lake. He was last seen at a nightclub in Sidon prior to his death and had been staying at the Regency Inn & Suites motel along U.S. 82 West for a few nights.
