On August 29, 2020, tragedy struck in Marshall County, Mississippi, claiming the life of 56-year-old Black male Robert Ellis. Authorities were called to a scene in the 500 block of French Road in the Byhalia area, where they discovered Ellis, a resident of Cayce Road, had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The violence of that day also left a second individual injured; this person was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment.
