On an evening in late April of 2011, a Black / African American man named Danny Mitchell was fatally shot in Phoenix, Arizona. The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at approximately 5:45 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 1700 West Ocotillo Road. The motive for the attack appeared to be robbery.
Following the shooting, Danny Mitchell's vehicle was stolen, furthering the belief that the crime was a robbery.
The vehicle was later found unoccupied a short time after the incident. Authorities have described the suspect as a Black male.
As of now, the case remains unsolved, and there have been no publicly announced arrests or naming of any specific suspects in connection with the murder of Danny Mitchell. The investigation into his death continues.
