In the quiet town of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, the evening of March 22, 2021, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of Lakiya Garrett, a 24-year-old Black female. At approximately 9:25 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed along West Railroad Avenue. When officers from the Crystal Springs Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered a grim tableau.
