In a quiet home on Shady Hill Drive in Star, Mississippi, a grim discovery was made on February 17, 2021. Joseph Dean Kersh, a 65-year-old white male, had called for medical assistance, complaining of pain in his leg and foot. When Rankin County deputies arrived at his residence, they found more than just a man in need of medical attention. Inside the home lay the body of a woman, later identified as 74-year-old Dianne Kersh.
