In the small town of Haileyville, Oklahoma, a dedicated male law enforcement officer lost his life in the line of duty. Officer Richard D. Bell, a 46-year-old policeman, was responding to a disturbance call at a residence on a Wednesday, the sixth of October, 1909. Upon entering the home to investigate the situation, he was tragically met with a volley of gunfire.
