In the winter of 1911, a lawman’s dedication to his duty cost him his life, leaving a somber mark on the town of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Deputy Sheriff Shack Palmer, a 31-year-old male, was involved in an attempt to arrest a man who was wanted in connection with the shooting of two other individuals.
