On the early morning of January 23, 2016, police in Anadarko, Oklahoma, were called to Kim's Country Mart at the corner of South Mission Street and West Texas Avenue after reports of gunfire. Inside the small neighborhood store they found Son Duong, a male Asian convenience store owner, lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds, spent rifle shell casings scattered nearby and no sign of the attacker.
