In the small town of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Teresa Lynn Robertson, a 51-year-old female, was a beloved member of the community. Known for her infectious smile and willingness to help others, she had built a life for herself after moving from California in the mid-90s. She had owned a beauty and flower shop and was known for driving the local school bus.
Her life, however, came to a tragic and violent end on the morning of Thursday, February 23, 2017.
On that day, Teresa's estranged husband, Kenneth Ray Robertson, entered a business in downtown Fairfax where she was present and shot her. After being shot, Teresa managed to run out of the building before she collapsed and died. The incident sent shockwaves through the quiet town as the community began to learn of the unfolding tragedy.
Following the shooting of his estranged wife, Kenneth Robertson, armed with a rifle, proceeded to the nearby City Hall. Once there, he instructed the employees to contact the Fairfax Police Chief, David Bradley. When the police chief arrived, Kenneth went outside, screaming and firing his weapon. He then aimed his gun at another officer, prompting Chief Bradley to return fire.
Kenneth Robertson was struck by the police chief's gunfire and was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Osage County Sheriff's Office confirmed the events of the murder-suicide by police engagement. No one else was injured during the violent rampage. The community was left to mourn the loss of Teresa Robertson, a woman remembered as a loving mother and a cherished friend to many.
