In the quiet town of Duncan, Oklahoma, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of a young woman. Jessica Kirk, a 27-year-old female, was killed on November 29, 2017. Her life was taken in an act of gun violence that also claimed the life of another individual.
Jessica was a mother and a nurse, having graduated from nursing school in December of 2016. She was described as a loving mother to her sons.
The place she called home, in southwestern Oklahoma, became the scene of a devastating double homicide.
The preliminary investigation led to a swift arrest. Jessica's husband, Shane Kirk, was identified as the suspect in the shooting. It was reported that Shane, a veteran diagnosed with PTSD, not only shot his wife but also his stepfather in the same incident. Following the events, Shane Kirk was taken into custody by the Duncan Police Department and subsequently charged in connection with the double homicide.
