On a busy morning in downtown Oklahoma City on January 6, 2020, Kenneth Richard, a 76-year-old Caucasian male, was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The incident occurred in the area of Walker and Sheridan. An argument that began inside the white SUV he was driving allegedly led to the shooting. Witnesses reported seeing Kenneth fall face-first onto the pavement after being shot.
He was transported to a local hospital where he underwent several surgeries but ultimately succumbed to his injuries four days later.
The primary suspect in the shooting was identified as Kenneth's wife of more than two decades, Fay Richard, who was 74 years old at the time. Following the incident, witnesses described Fay Richard as getting out of the car and nonchalantly stating, "I shot him." She was quickly taken into custody by police at the scene. During a police interview, she again admitted to shooting her husband.
Investigators found a. 38 caliber revolver on the floorboard of the SUV, which had been fired at least once. Based on the evidence and her admission, Fay Richard was arrested and subsequently charged with first-degree murder in the death of her husband, Kenneth Richard.
