In the spring of 2020, a tragedy unfolded in Bethany, Oklahoma, forever altering the lives of a local family. On the morning of April 1st, 32-year-old Black female Shamara Myers became a victim of a violent encounter that left three people dead and another injured. The incident, which took place near a convenience store, was determined by the Bethany Police Department to be a double murder-suicide.
The investigation revealed that Shamara's husband, 32-year-old Aymondray Myers, Sr., was
the perpetrator. He fatally shot his wife and her 48-year-old mother, Limbusha Fields, before turning the gun on himself. A fourth individual was also shot during the tragic event but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
In the aftermath of the harrowing event, law enforcement officials confirmed that they were not searching for any other suspects in connection with the deaths. The case was closed as a murder-suicide, leaving a community to mourn the devastating loss of Shamara Myers and her mother at the hands of a family member. Shamara was a mother to two daughters, Emera and Ja'Lyla, and a son, Aymondray Jr.
