In the quiet community of Mannford, Oklahoma, the life of 59-year-old Donald Donnie Gene Langdon, a semi-truck driver with a passion for the outdoors, came to a tragic and violent end. On May 18, 2020, Langdon, a White male, and his companion of 16 years, 57-year-old Mary Milam, were found deceased in their home at the Lake Country mobile home park. The couple had been fatally shot.
The events of that morning unfolded when Mannford police responded to calls of a shooting.
Upon their arrival at the mobile home park, officers discovered the bodies of Langdon and Milam. The person responsible was their 83-year-old neighbor, James Hancock. Hancock admitted to the police that he had shot the couple during a dispute.
Following his confession to the officers, the situation escalated further. In their presence, Hancock turned the gun on himself. He was transported to a hospital in Tulsa where he later died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was brought in to assist with the case. Investigators were unable to determine the specific motive that led to the deadly confrontation. With Hancock's confession and subsequent death, the investigation concluded that the deaths were the result of a neighborly dispute that tragically escalated. No further suspects were sought, and no arrests were made in the case.
