On a Saturday night in September 2020, a small gathering of friends outside Okmulgee, Oklahoma, turned into a scene of profound tragedy. Among those present was 18-year-old Autumn Cannady, a young woman with a bright future ahead of her. The party was intimate, with fewer than ten people in attendance, and as the evening progressed, some of the guests, including 19-year-old Marcus Patterson, had been drinking.
