Stephanie Kay Iglehart, a 30-year-old female, passed away on January 4, 2021, in Idabel, Oklahoma. Her death was the result of a shooting that occurred at the Booker T. Washington Park in Idabel. The incident was investigated by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at the request of the Idabel Police Department.
The events leading to the fatal shooting began with a dispute on social media between Iglehart and 25-year-old Jordan Bryant.
Iglehart believed that Bryant had stolen from her home. On the day of the incident, Iglehart and her boyfriend, 23-year-old William Wright, went to the park to confront Bryant. An altercation ensued, during which Wright and Bryant reportedly began shooting at each other. Iglehart was caught in the crossfire and sustained a gunshot wound.
Following the shooting, Wright transported Iglehart to McCurtain Memorial Hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Both William Wright and Jordan Bryant were arrested by the Idabel Police Department and booked into the McCurtain County Jail. They are facing charges in connection with Iglehart's death, with the specific charges to be determined by the District Attorney's Office.
Stephanie was born on November 17, 1990, in Waxahachie, Texas, and grew up in the Idabel area, where she graduated from Idabel High School. She was a mother to two children, Kylley and Elijah. Known for her 'spunky' personality, she enjoyed fashion, the outdoors, and spending time with her family. Funeral services were held on January 11, 2021, and she was laid to rest at Valliant Cemetery.
